Hi everyone! Thanks for stopping by my blog for the SewMamaSew Giveaway 2014! Have you checked out some of the awesome giveaways??? Oh my goodness! I will definitely be entering to win some of the great prizes!
I'll be giving away a $20 gift certificate to Winter Creek Cloth If you haven't visited their website, please do! Amazing prices & selection! The owners, Dana & Lynn, are friends of mine, and they are sweet sisters from Alabama :) Dana and I belong to the Corvallis Modern Quilt Guild.
I'm not going to make you jump through hoops to win this gift certificate. I want it to be fun, and that's it. So....all I want you to do is comment anything, absolutely anything, about the upcoming holiday season - if you're traveling to spend time with family, if you have any family traditions, if you like to make holiday items for your home, if you like to bake for your neighbors - you get the picture. ReplyDeleteChristmas traditions are changing with my kids getting older. The oldest is in the Air Force, the middle child moved to a bigger city and the youngest isn't interested in helping with Christmas decorations anymore. Getting in the spirit has been hard.

Usually we do a lot of cooking and have out of town guests and lots of activities, but this year we are scaling back a bit.

ReplyDeleteI'm in a frenzy Lisa! The school year finishes in a week and a half, so we have graduation activities galore. I think I am going to rethink teacher gifts next year. And not do them!! It's busy, but I actually love it.

My niece is driving up from Texas so she will be here this year. One of our traditions is to have a Christmas eve 'your choice' buffet dinner. Everyone gets to pick one thing they want and I make it. Some years the selection is really crazy and it looks to be that way again this year. So far we're having homemade pizza, deviled eggs, barbecued little smokies, sweet and sour beef stick, potato salad, glazed ham, a fruit and cheese platter and my infamous jello salad. Heaven only knows what else will be requested.

ReplyDeleteI am a Grinch when it comes to Christmas. I do have a good time on Christmas Day with family, but all the shopping and decorating leading up to the day stresses me out. I really look forward to it being over. Now New Year's is another story! We go away to a cabin up in the mountains, and just chill out! I love snuggling up by the fire, under a quilt, with some cocoa while the kids play with their new things. THAT is awesome!

My sister is spending a few days with me before she heads to my parents home. I'm spending Christmas with my in laws. It's always great to spend time with family!
ReplyDeleteWe just took our 4-yo to see Santa on her birthday (this week) and my other big tradition is making several batches of caramels.
ReplyDeleteWe have set up our tree, after getting it up from the mountains. It's been decorated. The Christmas music is playing most of the day. The house is decorated. The lights are (mostly) all up. We are making and having fun with our December tradition. Visiting the Christmas lights in this one neighborhood. Seeing the Christmas ship. Waiting for the Solstice Bonfire, the Christmas show and of course.... cinnamon rolls on Christmas morning.
