Time Warp

What is it about craft & fabric stores that makes time fly like crazy? My husband says he remembers when he was young and his mother would drag him along to fabric shops, and it was like a time warp. I totally agree! I went to the quilt shop today to shop for some backing fabric and a little something for my upcoming giveaway to celebrate my one-year blogiversary (January 21st!). I can't remember what time I arrived at the store, but it was almost dark when I left. I felt like I had been there for hours. I don't think I was, but I'm not really sure. Weird. Anyway, I found some pretty awesome fabric,  including another Jessica Levitt Timber fabric to add to my stash. I really should make my quilt one of these days. Yes, that quilt is going to be for ME!! At this point, I think I've bought enough of the line to make two....maybe three quilts! Seriously.'s time to start preparations for Relay For Life. I've made a quilt to donate for the last two years. The first year, it was in the silent auction. But last year, I decided to sell raffle tickets instead, and that brought in quite a bit more money than the silent auction, so that's what I'll be doing again this year. Recently, Julie Hermann @ Jaybird Quilts posted about a cancer quilt.  As soon as I read about the What Cancer Cannot Do quilt fabric panel, I knew that's what I wanted to use for my RFL quilt. I bought four panels, two in white and two in natural. I'll make one quilt for the relay this year, and maybe save two for later, but one will definitely be reserved for a quilt for me and my husband.  Check out this panel -- Is this awesome, or what?

Don't forget to check back on the 21st for my giveaway! Of course, you're more than welcome to come back and visit before then :)

  1. That is awesome! Have never seen that. What a perfect RFL quilt it will make, as well as a perfect quilt for any cancer fighter or survivor. You rock.

  2. What a gorgeous, heartfelt quilt that is. Can't wait to see yours!!

I know what you mean about the time warp...Bob and I just did that on Saturday, and it was really weird.
