Friday Night Sew In

I'm getting a really late start on my FNSI. It's been a long day, and I worked until almost 6:00 tonight. Then I had to give my puppy some love time because he was in a dark house when I got home. His dad had taken our human son to Costco for a big food trip when it was daylight, and no lights were turned on before he left the house. That made for a crazy little dog when I walked in the door. I started a cup of coffee and snuggled up with that cute little puppy, did a little blog surfing, and watched Dr. Phil until my hubby walked in the door with a Costco rotisserie chicken and a loaf of bread! Yum! Of course, we had to have a little bit of wine with that :) Now I'm on my 2nd glass of wine and have settled in upstairs in my quilting studio to get started on a Thanksgiving wall hanging. Check out Heidi's FNSI. It's always fun to see what everyone spent their evening sewing.

Merry Christmas to Me

This morning, I received a 2nd e-mail from my local quilt shop reminding me of their big sale - All pre-cut half-yard pieces were on sale for $3.75 each or 3 for $10. Well, it would be silly not to buy at least 3....or 6. I actually went there to get some holiday half-yards, but that was pretty much picked through, so I only got 3 of the holiday fabrics......
....and 3 of some other fabric that I just love!!! I'm going to love it when I open it on Christmas morning. Yep, that's right....I'm handing it over to my hubby to wrap up for Christmas. As sad as it is to hand it over, I know I'll be just as excited when I open that gift on Christmas morning as I was today when I bought it.

Oh....okay....I'll go ahead and show it off.

Isn't it beautiful?? I have no idea what I'm going to make with it, but I will make something....some day.

Still working on my surprise project that I mentioned recently. I'm sure all of you are wondering if you're going to be the recipient of this sweet thing, but you'll just have to wait and see. Maybe it's a Christmas gift for someone special. Maybe it's a birthday gift for one of you. Maybe it's just because you're special. you're really wondering, aren't you?  I'm expecting that I'll be finished this weekend, but I won't be able to post about it until I give it away. So stay tuned!

Oh more thing! It's time for nominations  in the Bloggers' Quilt Festival over at Amy's Creative Side.  Just in case you want to vote for my quilt, it's #337.  :)
