Craft Night

Just the other night, two of my good friends came over for craft night. We had been planning this for awhile, and I was REALLY looking forward to it. I had had a really busy day at work with it being the first day back after a 3-day weekend! Normally, when I have a super busy, stressful day, I don't feel like doing anything at all in the evening except hanging out on the couch, but I was NOT going to cancel!!! I'm SO glad I didn't. It was so fun to just hang out in my craft room with two friends and just talk and craft! Thanks Alana and Theresa. :) I needed that. Can't wait to do it again!

Comic Book Store

I recently took a trip to the comic book store. First time ever. I walked in the front door, and two dogs greeted me, one of which looked a little scary, and I think he sensed that I was a little dog person (yes, I'm little, but I'm talking about little dogs). I just kept walking....where I could...because the place was wall-to-wall stuff. I walked up to the counter and asked the young girl where I would find comic book boards. The manager/owner told her where to find them, and she brought back a box of 100, which was perfect. I told the owner that I was using them to organize my fabric. He nodded his head and said I wasn't the first and that he gets a lot of that. I got home, found one of the many tutorials  out in blog land (I used the one from that girl...that quilt) and started wrapping fabric around these babies. It was so addicting...I couldn't stop! I thought I would maybe use about half of them. Ha ha ha ha!!! I have just a few left. Here are some before and after shots. I didn't get all of my fabric consolidated to one cabinet, but I did fit most of it there and then had room for stuff on my other shelves, including smaller odd-sized fabric pieces.

See that stack on the bottom right? That's a beautifully wrapped bundle of Hideaway that I purchased from The Quilted B. She always wraps her fabric so nice and neat with a handwritten note attached. So sad that she's closing her business.  :(  Just can't bring myself to unwrap it. Hope I'll be able to someday because I'd really like to make a quilt with it.  It's gorgeous!

I'm a Lazy Girl

I'll admit it. I'm a lazy girl, and this Lazy Girl Designs tutorial is quickly becoming a favorite of mine.  Super easy, and a great way to gift wrap. I made this cute little bag for my mom's birthday with one of my favorite fabrics from Jessica Levitt's Timber.  Love Love Love this fabric!!!  I also made a smaller bag for a friend's birthday recently but forgot to take a pic. It was super cute :)'s my mom's bag.

Ten Little Things

SO much fun playing with this fabric by Jenn Ski!!! I think the owls are my favorite :)  I made this quilt for someone recently using the Scrappy four-patch quilt tutorial that I found on Missouri Star Quilt Company. Such an easy tutorial, but I think if I had to do it over again, I wouldn't have cut this charm pack into such small squares. The owls are so flippin' cute, and I ended up cutting a lot of them into little pieces :(

I made a cute little bag to match (same fabric that I used for the back of the quilt), using the Lazy Girl Designs tutorial...another super easy tutorial!
Making this baby quilt makes me want to have another baby. Not true. Just makes me want to have a baby around....but I'll be patient and just wait till it's my time to be a Grandma.

Me? A Winner? Again?

I know....I's been a little while since I blogged. Not really sure why, but I've had post ideas piling up in my little head, and it was my most recent win (yes, this is my 3rd one this year!) that motivated me to get right on it!

Have you checked out craftaholics anonymous?  If not, then you def need to click that link and check it out! Linda has such an awesome thing goin' on. She has some pretty cool tutorials, and prizes, and craft room ideas, and the list goes on! So.....about my win....Linda had a giveaway for four Kaboo Technology Bags! Oh my goodness! These bags are valued at $125. And I got to choose which one I wanted! I chose The Roxie in Red. Yep, that's right, I stepped out of my little black box and decided to get all wild and crazy with red! My iPad is gonna be stylin' now in its new home :) Oh, and I guess I'll be stylin', too, huh? Ha ha!

Thanks again, Linda, for the giveaway! I think I'll stay away from the giveaways for a while and let some others win ;)
